- Marina Trusina - DER Touristik CZ · Czech Republic
Marina Trusina knows hotels through product sheets. As product manager at DER Touristik CZ, she builds travel experiences, not catalogues. This Easter stay at Heritage Le Telfair, she lived differently. There is no better introduction to Le Telfair than watching the sun set from your room's terrace. Founded in 1992 as Exim Tours, the brand joined German group REWE in 2019 before becoming DER Touristik CZ in 2021. Marina Trusina has been product manager since January 2020. Before that, she spent more than two years at Blue Style, another player in the Czech market. She is a travel product specialist who builds experiences, not catalogues. What she takes away from Heritage On Easter evening, Annabella's restaurant sets its tables under the stars. The old Creole house, the columns, the woodwork and beyond, the Bel Ombre night. Wines and chocolates, the Heritage team in service. An evening that no product sheet could capture. The following morning, a golf initiation at La Réserve Golf Links. The course overlooks the sea at Bel Ombre, you play facing the ocean, with Didier Gayat and Henry as guides. This course has just been ranked #28 in the world and #1 in Africa by Golfweek 2026, selected from more than 22,000 courses worldwide. Marina Trusina leaves with images, not data. And for DER Touristik CZ, that is exactly the kind of stay that makes the difference when recommending Mauritius.
- Susan Roth, Upstream Travel x eTravel South Africa
When Word of Mouth Beats Everything Twenty years in the travel industry. No advertising budget, no flashy marketing campaign. Just a phone that keeps ringing. Susan Roth built Upstream Travel on something most agencies have forgotten: the power of word of mouth. Every new client arrives through a recommendation from someone who already trusts her. She joined the eTravel South Africa network, one of the country's leading travel consortiums, giving independent agents like Susan the tools, the partnerships and the buying power to compete while keeping the personal touch that makes them irreplaceable. She is recognised as one of the best sellers for The Holiday Factory within the eTravel network, a distinction that speaks as much about consistency as it does about expertise. Mauritius has been a constant in her portfolio. She knows which properties suit which travellers. She knows when to push a client toward something unexpected and when to stay with what she knows works. "Twenty years in, and I have no regrets. The relationships I have built with my clients, that is what keeps me going. I will always make sure they get the best." A visit to Heritage Resorts with her husband gave her something valuable: the guest's perspective. And what she found confirmed what she had been telling her clients for years. Everything is there. The food, the wine, the pools, a kids' club that actually keeps children happy, and staff who smile like they mean it. Lunch at C Beach Club added another chapter. The vibrant atmosphere, the setting, the energy of a place that buzzes with life even on an ordinary afternoon. She understood, sitting there, why guests keep coming back. Then came a discovery worth talking about. Browsing the wine list, she came across Jabulo, a fruity dry Shiraz sourced from South African terroir and curated by Jérôme Carlier, General Manager of Heritage Awali Golf and Spa Resort and Corporate Sommelier for Heritage Resorts. Sipped by the pool on a sunny afternoon, paired with a salade de palmiste and grilled fish, Jabulo does exactly what a great wine should do. It puts you in a good mood. Finding a wine from home, chosen with such intention and served on an island in the Indian Ocean, is one of those small details that say everything about how a property thinks. That kind of care runs through everything Susan does. Two decades of attentiveness, of remembering preferences, anticipating needs, and treating every booking as a personal commitment. Her clients return because the experience earns it, every time. In the travel industry, word of mouth is the most honest measure of a professional. By that measure, Susan Roth has been getting it right for a long time.
- Le Cercle des Voyages pose ses valises à Bel Ombre.
Roxanne Pasquier-Desvignes, Marketing and Communication Project Manager, and her colleague Sonia Vara Morais visited the Bel Ombre estate. They represent Cercle des Voyages, a Paris-based tour operator founded in 2002 by Rose-Marie Farrugia, with a conviction carried from day one: "Every day, we fight to make every trip a unique life experience filled with authentic moments." — Rose-Marie Farrugia, CEO, Cercle des Voyages Designing trips that truly reflect the traveller, with specialist advisors who guide each client through the full personalisation of their stay. At Bel Ombre, Heritage Resorts speaks the same language. The estate makes a strong case: set in the south of the island, unspoilt nature, two golf courses awarded internationally, the history of Château de Bel Ombre, and two hotels with distinct personalities. Heritage Awali and its warm African spirit. Heritage Le Telfair, echoing the elegance of old Creole manor houses with the touches of Charles Telfair's identity. Roxanne and Sonia toured several room categories — deluxe, junior suite, senior suite — each matching a different client profile. Then came lunch at Le Palmier: sea views, sunshine, and a burrata served with freshly harvested greens from the estate, cherry tomatoes and a small rougail de pomme d'amour that lifted the cheese and brought a welcome freshness to a beautifully sunny afternoon. A well-earned break. The day ended with a visit to the Bel Ombre Nature Reserve. What they take home: not product sheets. Experiences worth telling their clients about.
- When MICE Chooses Veranda & Heritage
Carole Thierry, Groups & Incentive Manager at ER Hospitality France, was among a group of French tour operators invited to discover what Veranda and Heritage hotels can offer a demanding French MICE clientele. Five days to understand, from the inside, why companies choose Mauritius for their seminars, incentives and team-building moments. The goal of this VIP eductour was straightforward: give agents the right arguments. The ones that make a difference when a client is weighing up destinations. One Island, Several Hotels, One Consistent Experience The programme moved through several properties within the group — Veranda Palmar, Veranda Grand Baie, Heritage Awali — each with its own personality, positioning and atmosphere. Every hotel has its own identity. And that diversity is precisely what makes the group strong: the ER Hospitality universe can meet different MICE profiles, different budgets, different expectations. There is always an option. Between property visits, the group explored the island: the Pamplemousses Botanical Garden, the Port Louis market, a catamaran cruise to Île aux Bénitiers. A reminder that MICE in Mauritius extends well beyond meeting rooms. What Mauritius Offers MICE That Few Destinations Can Match Proximity. First, the proximity of the teams — available, responsive, and able to adapt a programme on the spot. Then the proximity of experiences: within a few kilometres, you move from lunch overlooking the lagoon to an evening at Château de Bel Ombre, from a kitesurfing session to nine holes late in the afternoon. And then there is the quiet work the island does on its own. Participants return relaxed and reconnected. That is exactly what companies are looking for when they invest in an incentive. This eductour gave Carole Thierry and her colleagues the right words to sell this destination — not from a brochure, but from lived experience.
- TUI Germany Group · Heritage Resorts · Bel Ombre: Where luxury lives in the details
Some evenings leave a mark. This one, organised for a TUI group, was exactly that. Veena Appadoo, commercial coordinator at Summertimes, and Armelle Dorasamy, local operations manager at TUI, had carefully mapped out every step. A site inspection programme that delivered from the very first moment. First stop: La Réserve Links Golf. The view over Bel Ombre Bay catches you before you even set foot on the course. The weather was magnificent that evening: golden light, a gentle breeze, and a sense of peace that settles in naturally at this place. Didier Gayat, golf director, welcomed the group with the same warmth as the setting itself. When he began speaking in German, the room relaxed immediately. A drink in hand and a panorama in front of them, the questions followed naturally. The group then moved on to Le Château, where the garden offers another way to breathe in the estate. Then on to Heritage Awali and Heritage Le Telfair, two resorts with distinct characters, both held to the same standard. Between the natural pathways of Awali, shaped by lush local vegetation, and the refined elegance of Le Telfair, the group understood what defines Heritage Resorts: attention to every space and every detail. The pinnacle of the evening was dinner at Ginja restaurant. Gregory, the restaurant manager, and his team delivered something rare that night: precise, attentive service that never felt heavy-handed. Food that matched the atmosphere. The guests left with that particular feeling: that they had been truly looked after and that none of it had felt staged. That is what luxury is, really. Not the décor. Simple things done perfectly.
- Daniel Lisec: From Prague to Bel Ombre
Thirteen hours of flying separate Prague from Mauritius. That's a long way. But for Daniel Lisec, Product Manager at Čedok, the Czech Republic's leading tour operator, the trip was worth it. Lunch at Le Palmier may have sealed the deal. Čedok: A Century on the Road Founded in 1920 in Prague, Čedok is an institution. A century of history, millions of travellers accompanied, a reputation that speaks for itself. Featuring in its catalogues means being taken seriously. Daniel Lisec is the man who decides which hotels make the cut. His eye is that of a specialist: he knows what Czech travellers expect, what draws them in, what brings them back. His visit to Heritage Resorts & Golf was an assessment. And Heritage passed. What Bel Ombre Has to Offer What caught Daniel's attention was the versatility of the estate. Heritage Le Telfair and Heritage Awali cover every profile: families, couples, golfers. Two properties, one domain, a rare freedom of choice in the Indian Ocean. Golf holds a special place. La Réserve Links Golf and Le Château Golf are two exceptional courses, integrated directly into the resort, no transfers, no compromise. A strong argument for Čedok clients who travel with their clubs. And lunch at Le Palmier made its own case. « Lunch at Le Palmier was great. The best palmiste salad and fish. » Daniel Lisec, Product Manager, Čedok Dining at Heritage Resorts is not an afterthought. It is a full part of the promise. Tipa tipa.
- Chiara Formiconi: When Rome Falls for Mauritius
A House, A Philosophy Since the 1970s, Rossini Travel Service has established itself as a benchmark in Italy's luxury travel landscape. Located in the heart of Rome's prestigious Parioli district, it crafts bespoke journeys for discerning clients who know exactly what they're looking for and who come back year after year. At Rossini Travel, a passion for travel is shared, from one generation to the next, and with every traveller we accompany. Mauritius: Far More Than a Destination What sets Chiara apart is the depth of her relationship with the destination. It is an island she champions with conviction because she knows its richness, the diversity of experiences, the human warmth, and the authenticity of the terrain. Her clients know this too. Many of them are no longer simply repeat visitors: they have become, as she puts it, almost family . A trust built stay after stay, destination after destination. Among the properties on the island’s south coast, Heritage Le Telfair has recently caught Chiara’s eye as a resort she will certainly be putting forward to her clients. It aligns perfectly with what she seeks: character, authenticity, and a depth of experience.

- Eric Naud: Mauritius, everything on one island
Eric Naud directs the Lueurs du monde agency network and sends clients to Mauritius with a conviction built on experience: Mauritius is not just another destination. One island, a complete experience Eric Naud has been working the Mauritius destination for years. What convinced him was not a sales pitch, it was how clients talked about the island when they came home. The variety of what they had experienced. The surprise of finding so much within so few kilometres. On other islands, you have to choose: the beach, or the culture, or the nature. In Mauritius, you don't have to choose. "In Mauritius, you have everything on one island: the lagoon, the mountains, the spices, the cultural diversity. That's rare for an island destination." This is the promise he shares with his clients. One he has seen confirmed, trip after trip, through Heritage Resorts in the south of the island. Tipa tipa, as they say in Mauritius.
- Step by Step: Everyday Gestures for Women
8 March 2025 · Place du Moulin · Heritage Resorts & Golf, Mauritius That morning at Place du Moulin, there were no formal speeches. Instead, two women, two complementary voices, chose to speak plainly. To speak truthfully. The audience gathered by Heritage Resorts & Golf included employees of the property, scouts from the region, Lions Club Mauritius members and partners from the Bel Ombre community. Together, they listened as Dr Émilie Rivet-Duval and Gaëlle Schluchter posed two simple questions to mark International Women's Day... but not easy ones. Who am I, really? And what do I actually consent to? Two hours of themed talks that resembled nothing like a ceremonial address. Dr Émilie Rivet-Duval (Konekte) — "Who am I?" The clinical psychologist and CEO of Konekte didn't arrive with slogans. She arrived with an image: Russian dolls. Every woman carries within her the child she once was, the teenager she grew through, the professional she has become. Knowing yourself means opening those layers... without judgment. Her central message: don't wait for government action, don't wait for inequalities to disappear. Act today, at your own scale. "Tipa tipa, step by step, every day, a word, a gesture, can change a woman's life." She also named a reality that often goes unspoken: in Mauritius, mental health resources remain drastically insufficient. Too few psychologists, too little public investment. And yet that is where everything begins: the ability to set limits, name what you feel, refuse what is unacceptable. « We cannot wait for the right moment to protect women. Each day is enough on its own. Tipa tipa. » Gaëlle Schluchter (LespriSEXY) — "Learning to Respect Yourself" Gaëlle Schluchter chose to address consent. Not as an abstract legal concept, but as a daily tool. To make it tangible, she offered an acronym: R.E.E.L.S . Reversible and revocable : an agreement given today can be withdrawn tomorrow, with no explanation required. Enlightened: you only consent to what you genuinely understand. Enthusiastic: the 'yes' must be clear, frank, unambiguous... never reluctant. Liberty: no pressure, no coercion, whether emotional, hierarchical, or otherwise. Specific: saying yes to one thing does not mean saying yes to everything. Every situation requires its own agreement. In hospitality, where hierarchical dynamics run deep and guest interactions are constant, this framework is not optional. It is essential. Gaëlle Schluchter was direct about it: conditioning women to always smile, always say yes, exposes them to harm. Unlearning that attitude takes time... « An enthusiastic 'yes' is not a resigned 'yes'. You feel the difference. You have to learn to name it. » What this morning says about Mauritian hospitality Heritage Resorts chose to create this space, not to tick a box, but to offer genuine, open conversation. Women's empowerment in hospitality will not come through HR policies or value charters alone. It will come through mornings like this one, through words like these, spoken simply. Two specialists, two difficult subjects, an audience that listened. Tipa tipa nu avance.
- The Hands That Make Heritage Bloom
At Heritage Resorts, the gardens don't tend themselves. Behind every flowering path, every pruned hedge, every carefully shaped tree — there are women. Women up before dawn, asking for neither spotlights nor applause to give their very best. Linda is one of them. A member of the Agria Team — Heritage Resorts' horticultural brigade — she starts her day at 6:30 a.m., while most guests are still asleep. Under the sun, through the rain, in Mauritius's unforgiving heat, she prunes, plants, waters, and tends. It is work of the body as much as the heart. "Some of us leave home very early, well before sunrise, just to be here on time." What guests never see is the commute, the effort, the quiet discipline of these women who make the estate what it is: a place where nature and hospitality meet. "Who plants a garden, plants happiness."— English Proverb The work is physical, demanding, and sometimes thankless. The heat bears down hard, shifts stretch from 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and nature — unpredictable as ever — doesn't follow schedules. But Linda and her colleagues in the Agria Team press on with quiet consistency. They know every corner of the garden, every plant by name, every season by its moods. What these women bring goes far beyond beautiful grounds. Crossing paths with a guest along a garden path, they offer a smile, a greeting, an unexpected conversation. These moments — simple, spontaneous — are part of Heritage's soul. They create an atmosphere that no interior designer could ever plan for. "Hospitality is the most beautiful flower in the garden of welcome." They work in the shadows, yet their work shines across the entire estate. Heritage's gardens — in bloom, meticulously kept, full of life — are their signature. A collective, daily signature, carried without fanfare. On this 8 March 2026, International Women's Day, Hospitality Vibrations pays tribute to Linda and all the women of the Agria Team. To those guests sometimes glimpse early in the morning, hats on their heads, tools in hand. To those who, every single day, make Heritage Resorts bloom — with quiet pride and unwavering dedication. "The guest is king, but the host is the master of serenity." Because here, serenity doesn't fall from the sky. It is cultivated — at 6:30 in the morning, under the Mauritian sun, by hands that seek no glory. Only beauty.
- Grégoire Sourice, Heritage Resorts' New Representative in France
30 years in golf, events and luxury tourism. He knows the French market from both sides. Grégoire Sourice didn't come to golf by accident. Since 1995, he has moved through this world — first as Key Account Manager at a Paris-based golf event agency, then as a commercial for Golf Européen and Golf Magazine, before founding his own consulting and representation firm, Grégoire Sourice Consulting, based in Cannes. In between, eight years in the Middle East. First Abu Dhabi, at the Emirates Palace — one of the world's most celebrated hotels — managing MICE and sports groups as Sales Manager. Then Dubai, in prestige events with GL events and Ruggieri. Years that taught him, he says, to work with clients who notice everything. « Golf is not just a sport. It's a network, a destination, an art of life. » Since 2021, he has been representing premium golf resorts and destinations in France — including Argentario Golf Resort in Italy. It is in this same vein that he joins Heritage Resorts as official promoter on the French market: his brief, to introduce the Bel Ombre courses — The Reserve Golf Links and Le Château Golf — to specialist tour operators and travel agents. At the GEGF (Groupement des Entrepreneurs de Golfs Français), where he has been Head of Communications since 2023, he holds a direct network within the sector — a concrete asset for Heritage Resorts as it looks to strengthen its profile among France's luxury golf prescribers.
