Carole Thierry, Groups & Incentive Manager at ER Hospitality France, was among a group of French tour operators invited to discover what Veranda and Heritage hotels can offer a demanding French MICE clientele. Five days to understand, from the inside, why companies choose Mauritius for their seminars, incentives and team-building moments.

The goal of this VIP eductour was straightforward: give agents the right arguments. The ones that make a difference when a client is weighing up destinations.

One Island, Several Hotels, One Consistent Experience

The programme moved through several properties within the group — Veranda Palmar, Veranda Grand Baie, Heritage Awali — each with its own personality, positioning and atmosphere. Every hotel has its own identity. And that diversity is precisely what makes the group strong: the ER Hospitality universe can meet different MICE profiles, different budgets, different expectations. There is always an option.

Between property visits, the group explored the island: the Pamplemousses Botanical Garden, the Port Louis market, a catamaran cruise to Île aux Bénitiers. A reminder that MICE in Mauritius extends well beyond meeting rooms.

What Mauritius Offers MICE That Few Destinations Can Match

Proximity. First, the proximity of the teams — available, responsive, and able to adapt a programme on the spot. Then the proximity of experiences: within a few kilometres, you move from lunch overlooking the lagoon to an evening at Château de Bel Ombre, from a kitesurfing session to nine holes late in the afternoon.

And then there is the quiet work the island does on its own. Participants return relaxed and reconnected. That is exactly what companies are looking for when they invest in an incentive.

This eductour gave Carole Thierry and her colleagues the right words to sell this destination — not from a brochure, but from lived experience.
